Indianapolis, Indiana is where Ripple Affect was conceived, yes, but Ferdon Boulevard is where Ripple Affect was born. It is where I needed to find out how badly I wanted it. It was where I had to count the cost to see if I had enough—was I willing to risk it all and not look back? Though I did, many times. It was where I looked up to God and said, "Okay, God, now this is crazy... you might have to find someone else." I've actually said this to God several times on this journey.
Murphy Lane is where it grew from a newborn to a toddler, if you will. Murphy is also where I was inspired to service... it is where I got to truly see what I was made of. I looked around and said, "No, it's not ideal, but I can work with this... I will let these characters inspire me." It's where I said my tears will not go to waste, and it was where God said, "Let's use them." It was where God said, "Ah, ah... look again." It was where God said, "Use what you have. You have enough, Tashia... use what's in front of you." It's where I looked down at my proverbial watch and said, "Surely I took a wrong turn, because it's almost been three years."
Daniel Drive is where it took a little nap... is she still taking a nap? I like to think so. Sometimes the baby needs to go down for a nap... she's tired, fighting sleep....sometimes you need to step out of the service and take the baby to the back of the church or to the car...rock it to sleep and call it a day....its about self preservation...dont nobdy in the service wanna pretend they dont hear your crying cranky tired baby... It doesn't matter what show you try to put on or what type of snack you try to please her with—she is tired and needs to rest. Stop all that kicking and screaming and lay down somewhere; you've been through a lot.
Daniel is where I told God, "I can't do that," and He said, "My way." We went back and forth—wrestling with each other in the spirit. God wanted His way, and I'm a little headstrong, but of course God won. I said, "Okay, Your way... this ain't what You told me tho...or did I mishear?, but I'm gonna do what You're asking." God said, "If you don't do this, you'll regret it." I said okay...make a way and I'll follow through...The answer did not come the way I was expecting....IT NEVER DOES....but Behold....the answer came.
